Student Services

While Faith Theological Seminary exists as an academic institution, there is more to producing competent leadership than academics. The Seminary operates to provide a well-rounded experience for the students and their families while they are in seminary. The Seminary objective is to enhance and support the educational experience of the student by offering services which will encourage the student’s development in social, spiritual, intellectual, and moral areas. We desire that all of our students fulfill their personal and professional goals as Christian leaders and as active citizens who believe and live the whole gospel for the whole person for the whole world. All activities of the Seminary are grounded in the Scriptures. Students are encouraged to incorporate what they are learning in the classroom into their daily lives at home, in the church setting, and in the working world.

Employment Opportunities

Employment opportunities are posted on the bulletin board. Students are encouraged to check this listing regularly for updates.

Faith Theological Seminary Contact List

An administration, faculty, and staff contact list is available on the Administration bulletin board.

Student Email and Address Contact List

It is required that all students keep both an active email address, and surface-mail address, current with the Business Office. This list is not available to the public, but is used only for the purposes of communications between the Seminary and all students.

Student Identification Cards

Student identification cards are automatically issued after the first two weeks of the semester to all students who are taking classes for credit. Other students may request student identification cards from the Student Services Department.

Alumni

The Alumni Association seeks to continue a relationship with the student after he/she has graduated. The Alumni Director maintains current information on alumni. Alumni news is included in the FTS Bulletin, which is published several times a year.

Code of Conduct

The written Code of Conduct is included in the Student Handbook, which is provided to each student prior to his/her enrollment. In students signing the FTS application, they indicate their full agreement with Code of Conduct.  Students are expected to manifest a satisfactory attitude toward the spiritual and academic standards of the Seminary. The testimony and commitment of the Seminary is that Christians should hold themselves separate from sin, apostasy, and worldliness, while being a positive example of true Biblical Christianity to the watching world around them.

Spiritual Life

The Seminary makes every effort to advance the devotional life and practical Christian testimony of the students. Chapel services (11:30-11:45 Saturdays) provide time for shared reading of the Scripture, prayer, and singing. A brief devotional address is given by a visiting speaker, students, or by a member of the Faculty. This time is vital for the mutual edification, encouragement, and fellowship of the FTS community.

Ministry Opportunities

Faith Theological Seminary recognizes that students will minister in a complex and changing world. FTS endeavors to relate instruction to contemporary society. FTS keeps students informed of opportunities for ministry, both short-term and long-term. Opportunities for ministry and community service are posted on the bulletin board.

Counseling

Students may at any time seek academic advisement by the Academic Dean, or faculty members, regarding their course of study. It is highly recommended that all students meet with the Dean periodically to review their Program Checklist and transcripts in order to stay on track with their program.

Spiritual guidance and counseling is available through the professors and the administration.

Student Government

There is an organized and functioning student government. The students hold elections at the end of the Spring semester for the upcoming school year. The student government is responsible for chapels during the year.

Library

The FTS Library has approximately 25,000 volumes on Biblical exegesis, theology, missions, and related subjects. Periodicals contain articles of interest on the church, missions, and theology, as well as archaeology and Biblical studies. Some of this collection contains highly prized and rare volumes. High speed wireless internet access is available for students’ use. See the Library Handbook. For information on local library access to other large theological collections and data-base collections, please consult the Librarian.
